Our PADI Instructor Development Course programs are run by PADI Platinum Course Director Anders Heegaard of Go Pro Playa, assisted by our own PADI Master Instructor Paulo Maçarico and with the expert logistical and management support of Patrice and Laure Cheurlin of Mexico Blue Dream. Anders spreads the program over 14 days so that candidates have ample time to develop the core subjects. Apart from the basic curriculum of Knowledge Development prescriptive teaching presentations, Confined Water presentations, Open Water presentations, Dive Theory exams, General Standards & Procedures exams and the required Emergency First Instructor course, this PADI program's classroom presentations add information and discussions on varied and crucial aspects of our industry such as Business and Marketing with the aim of turning you into capable facilitators of PADI's proven, world-renowned system of diver education.
GoPro Mexico Blue Dream/GoPro Playa IDC special activities
Cenote dive - Halfway through your IDC we will take you on a cenote dive to introduce you to cavern/cave diving, a major source of income (and personal enjoyment!) for those PADI instructors who find jobs in this area after their PADI IDC. However, the main reason behind this cenote visit is to perform Open Water presentations and practice Adventures in Diving and Rescue Diver skills at the very location where the IE takes place so that you’ll be better prepared for the conditions and logistics you will experience during your final exam.
Poseidon Mk6 Closed Circuit Rebreather try-out - Experience a rebreather try-out under the expert guidance of Patrice Cheurlin (one of GoPro Mexico Blue Dream's owners and also a RAID Rebreather Instructor) as he takes you through the introductory steps of diving with a Poseidon Mk6 Closed Circuit Rebreather at our facility's pool.
PADI Oxygen Emergency Provider - We offer this PADI Specialty to our candidates at no extra cost, apart from the certification fee. After that you can apply to become a Specialty Instructor and start teaching it as an add-on to your Rescue and Divemaster courses, apart from incorporating your knowledge of providing emergency oxygen in the relevant segments of Open Water Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver courses.
Becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer makes you stand out from the majority of first time scuba diving job applicants. Taking place always after the Instructor's Examination the preparation for Master Scuba Diver Trainer Preparation at Go Pro Mexico Blue Dream consists of going through the theory and practice teaching the skills of five PADI Specialties so that successful PADI IDC participants automatically qualify to apply for the rating of Master Scuba Diver Trainer (being qualified to teach five PADI Specialties and certify PADI Master Scuba Divers) as soon as they achieve the required number of PADI certifications (currently 25). With EANx Diver there is a prerequisite that the applying candidate must already be a PADI Specialty EANx Diver (or with the equivalent certification from a recognized training agency). The IDC training and MSDT Preparation expertise you get from Anders Heegaard, GoPro Mexico Blue Dream's associate PADI Platinum Course Director and his team is second to none and it is valued by employers everywhere. Anders and the MSDT Preparation Program participants discuss and agree on the five PADI Specialties to opt for - bearing in mind popularity and feasibility - and from then on it's all hands-on fun and professional learning. Go Pro all the way and prepare yourself to apply for Master Scuba Diver Trainer, the PADI instructor rating that puts you that much further ahead from the crowd!
